READ THE SOURCE OF INSPIRATION, A COMIC CALLED PLATINUM DREAMS, HERE!

In December of 2022, I came across a YouTuber named PaperDawN. His videos are very entertaining, and are right up my alley considering I like the late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia, and I like listening to people gush about the things that they love and are passionate about. I especially enjoyed the videos about Peanuts video games and LEGO sets and sealed video games.
Dawn, who also goes by Richie (and, mind you, also uses any pronouns), is not just a YouTuber, but also an artist and a graphic designer, and a comic author. Her creation, Platinum Dreams, became what may possibly be my favorite comic of the 21st century. The comic is filled with passion, care and attention; the author uses it to say a lot of ever-relevant things about art, making art, burnout, and being trans, among other things. They were very clear in letting me know that Platinum Dreams is a comic that is meant to be open to interpretation - hence why the musical pieces contained in this album are not directly representative of the comic itself, but are directly inspired by it. These are my jazz interpretations of Platinum Dreams.
After having been a fan of their work for over half a year now, Dawn/Richie has become a very amazing friend of mine. As I've been sharing the ideas I've had for this album over a couple of weeks, he's been really accepting of them. It must be made clear that this is one fan's musical interpretation of a comic; I just really loved the comic and wanted to feel inspired by it, as I've been subconsciously inspired by it ever since I got caught up that Christmas week. PaperDawN is cool with this album, just as long as it is made clear that it's not entirely "official".
